A few years ago I set myself this goal as an amateur artist, namely finding my own style in this ocean of art. On this website I will track my progress and I reflect on my projects. Furthermore, this website showcases the work that I have made.
The Story behind
My journey.
A Style. Something that feels, is only possible for the happy few that break through in Art. A style to me is your way of expressing yourself as an artist in which certain aspects over work is recognizable. However, style develops as you become the artist who you are. Well, challenge accepted. In order to find out what my style is, I need to define who I am as an artist. Over the past couple years, I critically worked on my technique and pushed myself to experiment more. I wanted to let go of the principles of realism and to act more on the basis of feeling.
The key aspect for me in this case was stepping out of my comfort zone e.g. experimenting with new materials, sketching with pan, the use of non-realistic colours etc. I do not stick with only 2D-projects. I like to take on many different projects and to challenge myself to think in different ways. As my future progresses, I am taking on more opportunities to learn, such as design and art courses, but above all I will keep on experimenting.
